Paint correction is a labor intensive, multiple step process of removing surface scratches and imperfections within the vehicle's paintwork. This involves the use of machine polishers and wide range of products. Fully corrected paintwork will shine brilliantly and produce stunning reflections, as there are no longer any imperfections to scatter and reflect the light rays.
Columbus Tint's paint correction or (swirl removal) is a labor intensive process where we uses the most advanced compounds and polishes, applied either by a random orbital or rotary polisher designed to remove most defects in paint. Bringing back a shine and luster which most vehicles lack by leveling out the clear coat.
Columbus Tint's paint correction will result in a deep gloss and smooth finish that gives a show car look and up to 80% of swirls, scratches and other imperfections on automotive paint. This service will restore the color and clarity to any vehicles finish. Note paint corrections services take around 2 days to complete.

WHAT CAN PAINT CORRECTION REMOVE?
Swirls and Cobwebs
Swirl marks are super fine scratches on a painted surface in your vehicle's clear coat. These occur from wiping your car with a dry towel (typically when it's dusty) or consistent use of an automatic soft-touch car wash.
The only way to permanently remove swirl marks is to polish the vehicle with a silicone-free compound.

THE EXQUISITE PAINT CORRECTION PROCESS
01
Hand Wash
We thoroughly clean the vehicle top to bottom using pH-neutral soap, foam cannons, and a pressure washer. This process is two-fold. We are removing the daily dirt and grease while showcasing the vehicle's current condition.
02
Paint Assessment
In this step, we use our daylight temperature inspection lights to assess the vehicle's paint. This process is key to determining the ideal course of action to eradicate paint defects and not to harm the paint further.
03
Paint Decontamination
The next step is to rid the paint from ultra-fine, microscopic contaminates. Without damaging the paint further, we utilize clay bars and iron removers to decontaminate the paint's surface.
04
Machine Polishing
Machine polishing is the physical process of permanently removing, or "cutting", paint defects. Depending on the level of service, this can be up to 4 to 12 hours per vehicle.
05
Paint Jeweling
Once the vehicle has the majority of its paint defects removed from step 4, a haze is typically left_over. Introducing an ultra-fine polish, we begin to jewel the paint to bring ultimate gloss.
06
Sealant/Ceramic
Only once the previous steps are completed can we apply a multi-year ceramic coating, sealant, or paint protection film. The final step preserves that showroom shine.
